„The Second Siege“ is the second book of „The Tapestry“ series.

After Max McDaniel’s first year at Rowan he has to learn that the life he knew before has disappeared and he cannot return. His future promises friendship, adventure and power , but also fear, danger and sorrow.

Max is now 13 and together with his room-mate and friend David he has already learnt so much that they are even better than even the oldest students at Rowan, but they have still a lot to learn.

Their classes are interrupted because Dame Mala, a very important witch wants to have David and Max who are touched by Old Magic in exchange for the powerful Book of Toth (no, not tooth! :D). The book contains important information that could destroy the world if it is in the wrong hands – in this case in the hands of the evil Astaroth.

David and Max don’t want to follow the witch and escape together with Max’s dad, Max’s mystic animal Nick, Special Agent Cooper, Mystics teacher Miss Boon and the cook hag Mum.

They have to find the Book of Toth before Astaroth does, or all would be lost. This is not very easy, because Astaroth has already taken over many cities all over the world and caused death and chaos.

On their way Max learns some well-kept secrets regarding his family, and especially about his missing mom.

This book is even better than the first one of the series, it is really thrilling and nearly every page packed with action. Highly recommended!!
